Hayley videos

Sunday mornings are my mornings to sleep in, so I tend to stay up way past my bedtime on Saturday evenings. This past Saturday I stayed up late watching video clips of Hayley I had taken with my camera over the years. They were pretty addictive and I realized two things: one is my duaghter is the cutest sweetest thing ever! and two is we really have to get a decent camcorder man. Oh and one more thing: I have really got to organize these clips somehow!

So on that note here are a few videos I had already put together and uploaded on Google video...

1. Hayley goes wild in the park (March 2006): Hayley finally gets excited about the park.
2. Sweet baby (July 2006): Proof that Hayley is the sweetest baby in the world.
3. Dancing queen (August 2006):
Hayley dances with Hadyn.
4.
Hayley battles the evil pink sock (September 2006): Hayley has some "touble" with her sock.
5. Hayley escapes (November 2006): Hayley gets out of her crib
6. Hayley idol (February 2007): Look for her Simon around 2022!
7. Ka-chow (April 2007): Hadyn tries to teach Hayley how to say "Ka-chow".
8. Rock the baby (August 2007): Hayley takes care of some of her little people.
9. Hayley and Arianna’s first dance class (October 2007): They get better eventually.
10. Hayley the talker (October 2007): Some of the latest things Hayleys has been saying.

Passage of time

Above is the all the daily Hayleys from Hayley's first year. There are 366 photos from the day she was born December 17th, 2004 to her first birthday December 17th, 2005. The original plan was to stop after the first year, but of course I didn't. The daily Hayleys live on. There are more than 1000 now, so now I'm working on the 1000 daily Hayley poster. When will I stop now? I dunno, maybe when she goes off to college...smile.

Portrait of a Portuguese princess?

I shot this photo of Hayley lounging on the steps of our house with her Dad. We had family over and it was the only place left to sit. At the time I just thought she looked so beautiful, in the pink outfit and all. It wasn’t until I was reviewing the photos later for the daily Hayley that I was struck with how regal she looked. Her pose, her expression, her attitude, they so much reminded me of grand renaissance paintings of royal families. The outfit just clenches that she must be of some Portuguese or Indian dissent and just so happens that she is. Mmmm, maybe Hayley is a reincarnation of some Portuguese princess.

my masterpiece

When I thought about submiting a photo of Hayley for this weeks photofriday “masterpiece” topic I had envisioned a more “artsy” photo. I never thought it would happen tonight in Chipotle. This is a photo of Hayley with her mouth full of cheese quesadilla laughing her head off at Hadyn spinning a penny with his dad. She was laughing so hard she couldn’t breath and she began to tear up. It was the most amazing thing. I have realized for some time that there is no greater sound than that of your child laughing uncontrollably. Hayley is quickly transitioning from baby to girl, and its times like these that I am just amazed by her. Already I can tell that she is a beautiful sweet smart gentle child with a great sense of humor and love of life. She truly is my masterpiece.

famous Hayley

For some time now Hayley has developed this habit of putting things around her neck. If she found a ribbon or something she would put one end in each hand and then put it around her neck and pull. It doesn’t necessarily have to be something that is bendable. She has tried plastic bowls, wooden spoons, spatulas etc. It’s the funniest thing. You can watch her and as soon as you see her put the ends of some object in both hands you know she will try to put it around her neck. So knowing this, for Easter my mom got Hayley the perfect thing to put around your neck: a fuzzy pink boa, and as this photo shows she indeed knows how to “work” the boa. I can almost hear her say “Daaaarrrrllling hand me a truffle”.

full Hayley

When Hayley was younger I had no clue whether she was full after a meal or not. She didn’t cry when we finished, but then again she didn’t look really satisfied either. Now that as all changed. No when she is full and I try to give her something, she will shake her head. If I get it close to her mouth with a spoonful of food, she will bat my hand away, like a kitty batting at a ball. It would be cute if it didn’t cause a huge mess. However by far the most gross way she has of telling me she’s full is if I happen to get a bite in her mouth and she finds she doesn’t want to go through the trouble of chewing and/ or swallowing the mouthful, she will simple regurgitate it back up. It flows out of mouth like yucky food lava. Sometimes I forget the all important bib, and then her clothes are the ones that really pay. This photo definitely shows a happily full Hayley and I though it was perfect for this weeks Photofriday topic.
